Lack of productions contribute to weak ticket sales on Broadway

Slipping into the fall season, Broadway box office recorded ,669,047, only slightly stronger than the previous week at ,139,301. Overall, the gross this year is 8,305,209 compared to 0,882,984 at the same point last year, putting it ahead by 2.6 percent.

Again this week, there were only six productions that reported more than a million in ticket sales. Those productions were Wicked at the Gershwin, The Lion King at the Minskoff, The Addams Family at the Lunt-Fontanne, Billy Elliot at the Imperial, Jersey Boys at the August Wilson and Promises, Promises at the Broadway.   Full Story...
